Bridge Inn Community Farm’s construction department offers, teaches, and supports a whole range of construction activities such as carpentry, plastering, tiling, painting, and decorating, brickwork and landscaping.
Students are patiently taught the necessary skills to master the various crafts and are encouraged (under supervision) to work independently to produce high quality work to be proud of. Students are educated in design and are taught how to measure, level, cut, mix, stick, screw, and hammer. They have full use of the workshop and will learn how to use a variety of tools such as drills, hammers, saws, spirit levels, chisels and of course a tape measure!
Most recently our students have been involved in producing bespoke quality handmade planters, obelisks, garden decking, garden furniture, fencing, pathways, water features, ornamental sculptures, commissioned art pieces, garden and room renovations, rockeries, and seating areas.
“Nature the great healer”
Students are taught to take enormous pride in their work and are encouraged to work safely and to the absolute best of their abilities to produce quality work.
